Rio Finale to 2012 season

Well It was another great experience skippering GAC Pindar in the final event of the season. We capped off the year finishing in 5th overall, a fair reflection on our results throughout the year, where we showed points of excellence, but partly through enforced crew changes could never maintain the consistency needed to force our way onto the podium. Rio was certainly one of the most glamorous sailing venues I have had the pleasure of racing in, Christ the redeemer statue in the mountains behind the race course, stunning blue skies and sunshine! a great setting! The wind also played ball, giving most conditions, particularly challenging coming down off of the mountains, you were never safe untill you crossed the finish line! Sadly this was to be the last event for this crew aboard GAC Pindar, due to unforseen Sponsor decisions, we were unable to commit to another year with the team. Ian returns to match racing, Anna to her olympic campaign myself Rick and Mark too new X40 teams for 2013..... Thankyou GAC Pindar for a great 2 years Racing!
